A Declaration of Conformity is one of the primary documents for a product. It is the first thing state supervision authorities check during inspections. Therefore, pay attention to how to properly prepare this document 👇

A CORRECT DECLARATION:

It is not a paper on a letterhead

A Declaration of Conformity is not a strictly accountable document with holograms. It is drawn up on a regular A4 sheet according to a form established by a specific technical regulation.

The main legal force comes not from a "beautiful blank," but from the accuracy of the data and the signature of the responsible person (manufacturer or authorized representative).
It is not a document issued by someone else

Unlike a certificate, a declaration is not "issued" — it is adopted by the business entity itself.

A certification body can perform testing and check documentation, but the responsibility for the product's compliance with regulations lies solely with the person who signed the declaration. This is your statement to the market and the state regarding product safety.
It is not everything you need for total peace of mind

While having a declaration and marking is a good minimum base for market placement, you may face issues with market surveillance authorities without technical documentation.

More common mistakes in drafting a declaration

Abolished in 2012. It remains a common business practice, but it cannot be mandatory
